Hello! It’s Monday, the 3rd of October. Welcome to the Gamerati News Update.
AEG releases Fantahzee, a game with a familiar mechanic and unique artistic style
Fantahzee — Hordes & Heroes, designed by Ryan Miller, is a dice and card game reminiscent of a certain popular family game everyone knows how to play. In Fantahzee each player takes on the role of commander of a party of heroes trying to defeat an attacking horde of monsters and prevent the most important parts of the town of Devil’s Burden from being destroyed.
You assemble your party by drawing from a common deck of heroes every turn and selecting a pair every turn to join your party. On your turn you roll a handful of dice, and choose to re-roll some of them trying to make sets and series to activate powers on your heroes.
The game art is inspired by classic animation cells and updated with modern fantasy sensibilities. Fantahzee — Hordes & Heroes is available in game stores starting today. MSRP is $40.
The Golem invites you to return to the city of old Korvosa this October
Keeping with the very good and much appreciated hardcover releases of previous Pathfinder Adventure Paths, Paizo is preparing Curse of the Crimson Throne.
The kings and queens of Korvosa have long ruled under the shadow of the Curse of the Crimson Throne — an infamous superstition claiming that no monarch of the city of shall ever die of old age or produce an heir. Whether or not there is any truth to the legend of the curse, Korvosa’s current king is but the latest victim to succumb to this foul legacy. Now, the metropolis teeters on the edge of anarchy, and it’s ups to a band of new heroes to save Korvosa from the greatest threat it has ever known!
This hardcover compilation updates the fan-favorite campaign for use with the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game, including new and revised content in nearly 500 pages packed with mayhem, excitement, and adventure!
The book will be available on the 19th of October in PDF, hardcover and a gorgeous limited edition. MSRP for the PDF is $31.49, while the regular hardcover is $60, and $75 for the Limited Edition.
Experience the PlayStation Experience in Anaheim in December
On the first weekend of December, Sony will host the Playstation Experience at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, CA for two days of nonstop Playstation extravaganza. There aren’t very many details of what’s going to be shown in the event, but we can safely speculate the showcase of Playstation VR, the new PS4 Pro. Maybe even the new Spider-Man game and perhaps Injustice 2?
Sony has confirmed the Capcom Cup will be happening at the PlayStation Experience, with finals taking place on Saturday at 6 PM. PlayStation Experience tickets are now on sale with special early bird pricing until the 16th October. Just follow the link in the shownotes.
So you move into a new suburb, and realize your neighbor is hiding something in his basement. The only way to find out what it is, is to sneak into his house. That’s the premise of Hello Neighbor, from tinyBuild and Dynamic Pixels.
The problem is that the Neighbor has an advanced AI that learns from your every move. He will place traps, anticipate your movement, and scare the crap out of you. Guaranteed.
Developed by Dynamic Pixels and published and produced by tinyBuild, Hello Neighbor is a sandbox-style game with plenty of environmental interaction with an AI that constantly evolves to try and counter your moves. It is a survival horror game, but of suspenseful horror, not cheap jump scares.
Hello Neighbor will be available in the summer of 2017 but you can sign up for the open alpha by going through the link in the description below. Check out the game’s Steam page for system requirements.
And that is all I have for you today. You can find a link to a transcript of this show in the description below and at gamerati.com.
