Last spring, the Gaming Events in the Springs Meetup group organized a city-wide gaming event that had an enormous turnout – much larger than any of the stores expected. So this coming weekend marks the Second Annual City Wide Gaming Event. More events, more stores, more fun. Simple enough!
All five of the independent game stores in Colorado Springs are participating (see my page of Brick & Mortar Stores for addresses & phone numbers):
- Castle Games & Gifts
- Petrie’s Family Games
- The Yellow King
- Compleat Games & Hobbies
- and Gamer’s Haven
And a huge variety of games (mostly free except for contest entry fees where prizes are involved):
- Tabletop Games
- Roleplaying Games
- Board Games
- Collectible Card Games
- and Miniature Games
If you want to help out or participate, be sure to sign up for games you’re interested in. Seats are filling up fast.

I’m looking forward to bouncing around to two or three of the locations on Saturday, May 21st, to cover a few events and possibly interview store owners, organizers, and gamers. Hopefully the turnout this year will be like it was last… (For pictures from last year, check here.)
If you’re in the area, I hope we see you there! Feel free to say hi if you see me – I’ll be one of the crazy guys with a Flip Video camera taking pictures and interviewing folks!
